ACCESS NI
ALL Access NI checks undertaken by the centre for volunteers is free from ALL charges to the volunteer. For paid positions the charges are £30.00 Access NI fee and a £7.50 administration fee by the centre. Due to non payment by a few organisations, ALL paid Access NI checks will not be processed until payment is received in full.
SMALL GRANTS for VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME 2009 - 2010
The VOLUNTEER CENTRE launched the Department for Social Development funded, Small Grants for Volunteering Programme in June. This year 18 groups from across the Armagh City and District and the Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council areas received grants totalling just under £16,000. Detailed below are the groups that received funding which is primarily aimed at helping smaller income organisations promote, recognise, develop and expand their volunteers and volunteering programmes.
Pictured are the representatives from each group displaying the cheques their group have received to help support volunteering in the local community. Eric Cumberland from Cunninghams Lane Residents Association in Dungannon, thanked the volunteer centre and the Department for Social Development for the grants stating, "This will be a great help to all the organisations, this funding will support our volunteers who are the people that make a real difference in their local communities."

DISPOSAL of ASSETS and UNUSED/REDUNDANT EQUIPMENT
The volunteer centre has some ICT equipment and office furniture it will be disposing of before the summer. Most of this will be free with a few items for sale. For further details contact the centres coordinator at either Armagh or Dungannon offices.
SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
Armagh & Dungannon Volunteer Centre has acheived the prestigious environmental management award BS 8555.
