CVS Small Grants Programme. (**This years application has now closed) We have some funds left in the CVS account and will make a 2nd call for applications soon. Watch this space.
The 2008 CVS small grants programme is now open. Application forms, guidance leaflet and general information leaflet can be downloaded here. Closing date and time is; 31st March 2008 at 4:00pm 

MAYOR AWARDS March 2008 Armagh City Hotel
The mayor awards for volunteers and other members of the public, contributing to the people, organisations and community of Armagh City and District Council areas, were held on the 12th March in the Armagh City Hotel. A very large crowd were informed by the large number of organisational stalls and information centres, entertained by Eugene Fitzpatrick and treated to a fine evening meal by the staff of the hotel. Mayor Charles Rolston and Deputy Mayor Noel Sheridan attended, presenting certificates, rose bowls and volunteer of the year award trophy to over 50 nominated individuals.

Pictured receiving certificates are 3 volunteers and committee members of the volunteer centre. Edel, Sheila and Mary are worthy receipients of the awards for all their hard work and dedication to the volunteer centre and the many other local groups they represent.

Volunteering is a universal concept.

People from every country in the world participate in volunteering. When you make the commitment to volunteer you are joining a Global Community.

People volunteer because they enjoy it! Most importantly people volunteer because they get great satisfaction from the results of their efforts and see the difference they've made to their community.
