The volunteer befriending scheme

Is a scheme whereby volunteers, trained and supported by Praxis, are matched with a local person who has experienced mental health problems.

Pilot Young person's Befriending Scheme for the Northern Board – set up to provide befriending services within the Northern Board area for 25 young persons, aged between 16 and 18, who have left care.

There are around 160 Praxis Befriending Volunteers working throughout Northern Ireland in 7 schemes, ie

Derry City
North Down & Ards
Antrim
Magherafelt/Cookstown
Lurgan
Lisnaskea
