Would you like to make a difference to your community? Volunteering has no boundaries it doesn’t matter if you are sixteen or ninety, employed, unemployed or retired, Craigavon and Banbridge Volunteer Centre would like to hear from you. Craigavon and Banbridge Volunteer Centre have approximately 450 registered volunteers assisting organisations and people in their communities. This ranges from helping out in Luncheon Clubs, doing voluntary driving, working with young people, helping in charities such as befriending on a one to one basis, Cancer Research or working with people with brain injuries, to taking part in Walking Groups for visually impaired people, and taking craft workshops. Volunteering is about giving time to make a positive contribution to your community, and to help others. Volunteering provides an opportunity to learn new skills, expand your social life, make new friends and try different activities. Currently the Centre has vacancies with a Befriending Scheme in the Banbridge and Dromore areas, Women’s Aid, Citizens Advice Bureau, Beacon Club. There will be training and development opportunities available within these organisations. The Centre covers the geographical area within Craigavon and Banbridge Council and Trust areas, and we would especially welcome inquiries from rural areas. Volunteering can change the lives of those people you help and can make such a difference to your own. If you feel you would be interested in any of the above positions, or even if you would like to volunteer but are unsure what you would like to do get in touch. You may have a specific skill and would like to volunteer if so please contact Brian, on 02838 342741 to arrange an informal chat. The Centre offers out of pocket expenses and support for all volunteers.
